Zac Robinson gets jacked up!

I just wanted to post and share the video of the Oklahoma State Cowboys' quarterback Zac Robinson getting jacked up by Jamar Wall late in the game against the Texas Tech Red Raiders on Saturday night. As you can see, Zac fumbles the ball and gives Tech the chance to march down the field and score the game tying touchdown, but the Poke's defense stepped up to the task and kept the Red Raiders from scoring.

After seeing that hit, it was surprising that both players were alright and were able to get up and walk off the field. I don't see how Zac didn't get a concussion cause judging by the way he looked when he was going to the locker room didn't look good, at all.

Apparently he is ok though cause Head Coach Mike Gundy said that he was anticipating Zac playing on Thursday night when Colorado comes to Stillwater.

The Cowboys need Robinson on field if they hope to win the most games in school history this year and especially if they want to defeat the Sooners in Norman.

We shall see.

Oklahoma State make a big move in the BCS standings

PhotobucketThe Oklahoma State Cowboys (8-2, 5-1) moved up to the number 12 spot in the latest BCS standings released earlier today. They were previously ranked 19th. That's a pretty good jump. Luckily for us there were a lot of ranked teams with loses this past Saturday to help us move up like we did.

We also moved up to 12th place in the AP Top 25 poll and 13th place in the Coaches poll.

The Cowboys don't have long to savor that tough win that they were able to get over the Texas Tech Red Raiders (6-4, 3-3) as they have to turn around quickly and prepare for the Colorado Buffaloes (3-7, 2-4) on Thursday night, the 19th.

The big question this week is, will Zack Robinson be able to play against Colorado? Zack took a huge hit near the end of the game when he was trying to take the ball into the endzone and collided with a Tech defensive back. Both players remained on the ground for some time before the finally got up. Zack looked like he took the worse of the hit as he needed a little help to reach the locker room.

Coach Mike Gundy has said that he anticipates that Zack will play on Thursday, so I assume that he didn't get a concussion. From the way he looked while walking off the field that is what I thought he had. But hopefully that's not the case and he will be fine.

The Cowboys are going to need Zack around if we want to finish the season out with wins. They could possibly get past the lowly Buffaloes without him, but they definitely need him if they hope to defeat the Sooners in Norman at the end of the month.

Let's see if the Cowboys can improve upon what they were able to do Saturday night against the Red Raiders and if the defense will be able to continue playing at the high level they have been playing at lately.

Oklahoma State quarterback Zac Robinson sets new record

Zac Robinson had a near perfect day down in Waco, Texas where the Oklahoma State Cowboys defeated the Baylor Bears pretty easily. Zac completed 23 of 27 passes for 250 yards and 3 touchdowns. Those three touchdowns were a season high for him this year.

With Zac completing 85% of his passes he has broken the old OSU record that was held by our head coach Mike Gundy. Gundy set the old mark by completing 77% of his passes against Kansas back in 1989. A lot of Gundy's passing records are slowly starting to fall since he's become the head coach. I'm sure he doesn't mind as long as we keep winning ball games.

More importantly Zac played smart and error free. He didn't fumble or throw an interception. The Cowboys have gone two games in a row without turning the ball over. It's key for Zac and the rest of the Cowboys to keep playing smart and protecting the football as the schedule heats up.

We host #3 Texas next Saturday on what might be a scary Halloween night. Texas played pretty well Saturday night against Missouri. Hopefully we can get the Texas that showed up against OU and not the one that played Missouri.

After Texas we travel to play Iowa State, who have been playing pretty good by Iowa State standards. We should win but this is just the type of game that usually trips us up. Texas Tech comes to town after that. This year's Tech team is not the Tech of old that's for sure but they are a tricky team to figure out this year, looking good sometimes and awful at other times. They just got whooped by Texas A&M last night and the Aggies haven't been looking good this year against Big 12 teams.

Colorado comes to Stillwater on November 19th. The Buffs have looked pretty bad this year at times but we have to be careful and not overlook them focusing on OU. They could trip us up.

Then we play OU at Norman for the last game of the season. Oklahoma is not the team of old and have had some bad moments this year but they always play tough at home. This could be our year to win there though.

So we have a moderately tough road ahead of us. This is Big 12 football so you never really know what's going to happen each Saturday. Lets stay focused Pokes.
