OSU's Perrish Cox named defensive player of the week

PhotobucketThe Oklahoma State Cowboys' cornerback Perrish Cox has been named the Big 12's defensive player of the week for his outstanding performance against the Texas Tech Red Raiders this past Saturday night.

Cox had two interceptions in the game including a key one in the endzone to help stop a Red Raider scoring drive. He also had 4 tackles and 3 pass defensed. Cox is now leading the nation in passes defended with 2.11 per game.

Perrish was also named as a Thorpe Award semifinalist a couple of weeks ago. The Thorpe Award is awarded to the nations best defensive back. He's surely making a case for the award with his play on the much improved defense of the Cowboys.

He'll look to continue to play good defense this Thursday night with the Buffaloes of Colorado come to Stillwater.
