Dallas coaching staff needs to grow some balls?

Patrick Crayton the former starting wide receiver for the Dallas Cowboys spoke out today about how it would have been nice if someone would have told him that he wouldn't be starting anymore. Instead he found out by watching what was going on on the practice field.

"I would have loved it," Crayton said of not getting an explanation from either Phillips or offensive coordinator Jason Garrett. "It would have been real stand-up. That's not what happened. Oh, well."

Of course Head Coach Wade Phillips said that he was pretty sure that they discussed it with him.

"We discussed it with him," Phillips said. "I have no doubt about that."

You have no doubt about that? Either you did or you didn't. Why don't any of them grow some balls and just flat out tell their players that they are either starting or not. Why are they afraid to hurt their feelings? You're the coach, tell them what they are or are not going to do.

Then there was the soundbytes of an interview if Jerry Jones when he was asked about the situation. Jerry just stumbled along saying that we, the coaching staff are not comfortable with that...and we just don't have to. I'll post a link to it whenever I find a link to it because you just have to listen to Jerry stutter his explanation.

You're not comfortable with telling someone that they are not going to start?? What in the hell is going on at Valley Ranch? Why can't you tell someone that, what's the big deal? It's your job isn't it?

Perhaps I'm just taking it the wrong way?
